Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here and also at making backing track with fruity loops and there's a problem for me : when I import a Midi file into FL, (with Piano, bass and drum), it sound ok at first, but then I put the soundfond in to the tracks, it works only for the piano track. The bass track seems like to be played one octave lower than in the midi file, and so when it hits the lowest notes, it doesn't make any sound!! Worse, the drum track doesn't make any sound AT ALL with the soundfonts (and I've tried 6 differents soundfonds!!!). So I wonder if somebody here already have that kind of trouble, and if there's a way to get out of it!!

In fact, I've been in the Guitars101.com forum and there's this thread about how to make a BT by some great guy called POD GOD, but the tutorial thread isn't there anymore, and he give a link to here. So here I am, looking for help!!! POD GOD, if ever you read this thread, can you please make a tutorial thread like that once again for a retardo like me???

Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum:thumb: It sounds like you may be using the wrong type of soundfonts. Make sure it is a drum soundfont you are using for drums and not a GM soundfont, as it won't work. Also, have you tried other midis? Does the same thing happen? I have uploaded my tutorial here for you. Read it over and you may find your answer in there. Good luck:) If you have any more questions, let me know.

If you don't have Microsoft Word to view the file, I highly recommend OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org)(it's free).

Thank you so much o God of the POD!!!! Now that I have this tutorial in hand, I think I'm gonna read it seriously!!! I can assure you that the soundfonts I use for the drum track is really for drum, not for other instruments. In fact, it was one of my buddies in Guitarbt forum who gave me that and he've made some good BT with it. But now, time for some reading for me!!!!

Again, thank you, sincerely!!!:thumb:
