Hi all! Haven't posted in quite a while, but here we go. We took advantage of Laurie's bout will allergies to record a cover of Black Velvet by Alannah Myles. Laurie's voice was pretty raspy and still is on occasion, but it really fits this song. Took several days but we managed to get it done. She did a killer job on the harmonies too. She has big voice for someone who's only 4'10-1/2" tall [It's very important that I include the 1/2" ;) ]

I've already commented offline, but will just reiterate what an excellent track this is. Laurie's voice is a perfect fit and has the right attitude and the backer sounds totally professional. 10 stars from me (if I could give that many)!!

So how come my cold is not making my voice sound so cool then? Not fair :(

Bloody brilliant guys, what a fine job. Everything sat just right, and Mrs Bearman's voice is in fine fettle. Its a great song and you did it proud. 5 from me.

God damnit that was freaking incredible! Vocals sound amazing. Love that raspiness. And the backing sounded great. Really loved that bass.

the little bit of rasp is what makes the song in my opinion.
