I just got VOX AD15VT amp. Sounds OK for my basement hobby playing, It doesn't have an FX loop, but I wanna use Boss pedals. Phaser / Flanger / Analog Delay / Digital Delay / Octaver / Original Cry Baby
I don't want to be limited to the onboard one FX at a time. :brickwall:
So, I put my Boss pedals from guitar straight into amp.
BUT... when using hi-gain amp sim ... I get some pulsating noise every other 20 seconds, for a few second, that sounds like a heartbeat or cheap drum-machine. This was without the cry baby connected, as I somehow lost the AC adapter, for it.
Any ideas or solutions ? :dunno:

Man that sounds strange.... The first time I messed with an amp here at home (before having any modeler) was with my Roland Cube 30 around 5 years ago, it does not have an effect loop as well, and the first (and only) pedal I bought is a Boss DD-3, with no AC adapter, so one damn 9 volt battery replaced every few hours of using it. So, though the amp is a different brandname, it fairly seems the same as what I started out with. I suppose that amp is a transistor based one as well just as mine. I´m clueless as to how all these stuff work, but it sounded great to me when I plugged my guitar to the pedal, and then to the amp. There´s a switch on the amp for a clean sound, with no amp emulating, which is what I personally preferred, but it worked well with the amp emulating on too.....maybe you put too much distortion on the signal and it couples (or however it´s said) with the pedals? Battery run out of juice?

The Vox AD##VT (Valvetronix) series has digital pre-amp for amp models and FX, but Tubes / Valves for output. It has a Headphone / Line Out, too.
I was going to get a Roland Cube, but my local store doesn't sell them, but the Vox sounded amazing, and even more amazing with my recently acquired Epiphone Les Paul Custom.
I had no pedals & noise issues when I had a 50 watt transistor Marshall from 1982 to 2000. So, I was amp-less for 7 years. Used a Zoom 505 + Boss Pedals.
I haven't had the time to try plugging into a different outlet, or running Boss pedals via batteries. Maybe on the week-end.
I have a DD-3 too, and know about batteries draining fast. I have a Zoom 505 too, and one hour and it gives up the ghost.
I also have a Boss Analog Delay which I like for "echo" FX (think - Rush 2112)
The Vox AD15VT Delay FX is similar to the DD-3. So, I somewhat content.
Good to hear there are possibilities. Just gotta experiment a bit more.
I also found a Vox amp forum today for the Valvetronix series, but haven't done any further research. Maybe tomorrow.

Normally, these modulation effects should all be after the preamp in your effects chain. That may be causing your problem:dunno: Only the wah should be before the amp. Nothing's written in stone, of course, but you may want to try removing the effects from the chain, one at a time, to find the source of the problem.
