Hi everyone here is just months jam, its a Rock Jam i wrote and made for your enjoyment, there are 6 slots available, the slots are all the same length, the arrangement alternates each time, but every other slot is identical, if that makes sense :)

The time slots are as follows:

Slot 1: start - 1:28 : Bahamut
Slot 2: 1:31 - 2:35 : Axe2Grind
Slot 3: 2:37 - 3:38 : Wahwah
Slot 4: 3:40 - 4:44 : Captain Spasm
Slot 5: 4:46 - 5:48 : Lippy
Slot 6: 5:50 - End: Khelbanzon

On The Bench: SteveG, Avalon

I know Mart wants the opening slot, so he's already down, if you want a slot, just post here and tell me which one, and i'll update the list as and when ppl pop their name down.
Once u finish your parts upload them on Sendspace or somewhere similar and drop me a pm with the link :thumb:

Nice work on the backer there mate. Think I will stand on the sideline here in case you don't get the full crew, got a few things half done and zero time / space to finish 'em :(

Me too LOL, I'll send mine over as well Jamie when I get home this evening. There's no line up clicks so I will just mixdown my take along with about 10 seconds of the beginning of the backing.Should be able to lineup ok with that!. :thumb:

Yeah i forgot to add any clicks to the intro, but if everyone just leaves the opening 10 seconds on, it should be easy enough to line them all up :)
Look forward to hearing your parts mate, and at this rate its going to be the quickest jam ever  everyones inspired atm, its great to see :)

Well its great work on the BT mate, soon as I heard it, I knew exactly what I was gonna do (very rare for me! and probably predictable ) and it came together very quickly for me. Gave the new Hamer a workout on this so is the first ever recording I've done with my new axe. will look forward to hearing this when all are done. When I saved my take, I mistyped the filename, was gonna call it MarchJam but came out MachJam which is about right as well ! LOL.

Well Mart and myself were discussing what we could do for this months Jam, and decided it should be something abit heavier for a change, im never exactly sure what catagory these things fall under, but i think Heavy Rock or Hard Rock probably best discribes it, its slightly short of Metal i think.
Its great to see it take to by so many so quickly, its always hard to know what everyone would like to play over, but very rewarding when we get it right :)
Look forward to hearing your part mate, Marts finished too, so within 2 days and a half its 75% complete, its off to a flying start :)

Nah ... don't bust a gut over it mate ... Isn't SteveG already in reserve? ... besides, I'm probably gonna have my work cut out for me ... getting tight (!!??) with the new band in time for the first gigs at the end of March.

In hindsight, maybe I should just bow out gracefully from recording and posting music till after the gigs (Vamp's in and out of the house like it's a hotel atm, so it's a hassle to re-connect it to the pc for now ... maybe I should get another one ... one for the gig-rig and one for the home ... yeah, I can see THAT one going down well with the wife!! :notme: )

Yeah Steve is, and so am i, but i think we'd both rather not be called into action  , like you, he's got alot on aswell, and im just trying to clear my workload for a small break.

Yeah you've got mine now Jam :)

Hey Macman can you explain how this works. Am I right in thinking that we download your bt to a program and then over dub , or not. Cheers, Curious:headscratch:

Hi mate
Nah, what you do is download the backing track and then record over it at your given timeslot. Then Avalon gets all the individual files and mixes em together to do a complete track. :thumb:

Beat me to it big man!

What you need to do is record your piece as a SEPARATE soundfile though (i.e. not permanently merged with the bt file) - so you can export it separately for someone else to mix up together with the rest of the other guys stuff.

It's also usually good form to mix either the count-in, or at least the first few bars from the bt into your sound file too - just to help in aligning all the tracks.

I'm gettin' it now. Thanks guys
So what are you using as recording software?

Captain Spasm
03-01-2008, 07:02 AM
Think there's nearly as many different flavours as there are members here Paul. Lippy and I use "Cubase" ... Chris uses "Cakewalk", some use "Audacity" I believe (which is free, but not for making profit with) ... you can download that from Behringer's website (for one) ... or have a look in the file-share forum. :thumb:

Captain Spasm
03-01-2008, 07:06 AM
Will say this though ... you'll need a fast HD (SATA ... or something else fast) and I'd recommend using a non-integrated soundcard, i.e. one that ISN'T a part of your motherboard ... many audio interfaces can connect via SPDIF/USB/Firewire these days, instead of the audio inputs on the soundcard.

Or have a look around the "Studio" forums and maybe post a request thread in there mate :thumb:

oh man, i hate to break this news... but my baby... my american strat... is not in good condition. the damn strap button got loose, and the guitar fell down the stairs... cracking the headstock in half...

all i have now to record with is a jazz box, and i don't think that will cut it for this kind of jam...

ARSE!!!!:maddance: :maddance: :maddance: :maddance: :maddance: :maddance:
