This tune was the very first post I made when I joined up here. I remastered the version I posted from before. This one is loud! Beware. It's a snippet, but I had the whole tune done, but this was circa 2 yrs ago and many HD's ago and most of it is lost. I will finish this one up from the ground up someday. :)
With the tools I have aquired since then (Ozone), I wanted to take a shot at a better sounding cut. From the Rush LP "Hemispheres."

Great job,Sergio:rock:
Well, this version is certainly fatter! Those drums are like thunder claps! :thumb:
Your tone is so very much like Alex's, it is spooky. I know that I said it already in the other thread, but...other than Alex Lifeson playing it himself, I don't think that anyone could play that lead as well as you did. I've only heard a few people attempt it and that is because it is not easy. That gradual build-up to the crescendo towards the end of the lead is like the climax of the song for me, and you have nailed that vibe extremely well. You captured the dynamics of the build which in my opinion is harder than being able to shred a thousand thoughtless notes per minute or sweeping soul-less arpeggios and the like. This song is like the essence of late 70s RUSH to me. And I can only hope that someday I will be able to just come close to what you've accomplished with your version of that solo. Thanks for reposting this gem. :thumb:

Sounds great, with or without Ozone. Yeah, its a great tool and can make a hell of a difference, but if the fingers ain't working right all the processing in the world will not help. No such problem here tho :thumb:

Well you know me mate, don't know any Rush at all, but judging this by its own standards is very easy, cus it rocks, lovely guitaring, its so easy to forget how good you are on guitar when we hear you sing so brilliantly on a regular basis, so its great to hear you on guitar, and a cracking performence mate :yourock:

nice work Serg, you got as close to Alex's tone, particularily the chorus-y rhythm work, as anything I've heard. Lets hear the rest of it :) :thumb:

Love it! This song signifies everything I love about Rush. Dangerous chops, impeccable writing and a fun attitude when they do this one live. Tone is SO close to not be able to tell it apart. Hi-Watt top and a Gibson 335 I believe at this time in Alex's career. The drum pattern at 1:42 is just SO economical...my fave Peart piece alongside that impossible fill near the end of 'Natural Science'. All is here in this post. Bulldog has been talking about doing some Rush...wonder what he thinks to doing this?!??
Great stuff Mr Tacchinini.
