Yep, 70's pop

Have not heard this song for years, but always thought it was pretty cool, wonder if he wrote it as it was very different to his usual stuff. Got the lyrics off the net and just went for it from memory, then checked on Youtube after I had done to see how far off I was .... I knew I had rocked it up somewhat but my memory of the song seems to have been what I thought it should have sounded like, sorta like this really :notme:
This was my first attempt at using a slide. Have no idea ... so just tuned to an E chord, put the thing on the 4 obvious spots and wiggled it around a bit :D Makes an "interesting" noise
Fed up of struggling with backers for the mo, so drums by the Boss, rest is me.

Great all rounder Steve! Your voice is getting a hell of a lot stronger mate. To be honest I'm not familiar with the original Steve. But I did have his '76 album Endless Flight when I was very young. I always thought he would've made a good rock singer.

 Cheers mate :D Its not so much that my voice is getting stronger (tho I am singing a lot now so I guess it is) as I am discovering the joys of multiple layers of compression!

I've never heard of this. But I liked it. That's about the same approach that I have when it comes to slide. Music doesn't always have to be that scientific, does it? ;)
I also like doing covers without listening too much to the original before recording. That way your own personal style comes across in it.
Great stuff here. Very nice guitars and vocals. Drums doesn't sound too bad either. Great post!

Excellent Steve!!! You're choices are always a treat, I'm not usually familiar with them, dig em and get into the artists work as a result. Love the whole thing, but the vocals were really my favorite part.
