Does anyone know if Ibanez make the RG prestige in a soild bridge model? If so whats the model number and are they as good as the trem models. I never use a trem and I like the prestige but I looked around and couldn't find one without a trem.

Well, I did some research and here is the RGA321F Prestige! It's
got all the the features of the trem version but without the trem.
Here's a pic of this baby..I'm gonna get it! They are around $1400.00 with the hard shell case! 5 way switching also! Very nice guitar!

thats a beauty mate....
One day I would love to invest more than $400 into a guitar. I would probably get the YJM Fender Stratocaster for the features. I just keep going back to my strat. I am very interested in trying one of those new Epiphone Ultra II Les Pauls however.
Anyways back to topic, those Dimarzios should sound awesome in that guitar:woot:

Love it! I own two Prestiges now and looking to score a Jem. The Prestige RGs are some of the best built and most comfortable guitars you can buy without having to pay absurd prices.

I've been a Fender player since I was 13 and have always gigged with my Strat. I need a little more punch as I'm getting into a band that plays all Hard rock and Metal. This will do the trick for me and I've read up on these guitars and all is good. I like the metal/graphite nut it has,..I'm sure this guitar is gonna cut through the mix real well. NOW,..the only thing is,..I have to come up with about $1000.00 plus tax. This is what guitar center said they would sell it to me for when I'm ready. I'm going to get the black one.

Yeah man! This is what I'm hearing about these. I'm sure you know?,...Do they sound like Les Paul's? I'm really not looking for that tone,..are these on a scale of their own as in,..do they have their own sounds?

Johnny,
If its fixed bridge RG you want, and you want a flat top, then you could go for the Paul Gilbert model, which is basically a prestige as well, a little better as it has proper Dimarzio's as opposed to IBZ dimarzio's (which are still good, I have them in my SA Prestige). I'm very much a fixed bridge guy myself, I always tend to just use trems when covering things, stupid really.

Is that yours bro? Nice man! I will look into these also,..I just like the idea of the arch top and figured maple top on the RGA321F. But I'll check these out too! I like the idea of the middle pickup on your model. I'm sure that gives the guitar some spank if needed. I always use the middle pickup when I gig...It gives my Strat more aggression with the proper EQ settings on my amp. I never use the bride pickup and I use the neck on SRV tunes.
Yeah,..I was never a trem guy,..All my Strats trems are locked down.
Thanks for the pic and info!

Nah this is just a pic of the PGM model, I have an SA prestige which has a non locking strat like trem, my guitar pics are a few threads down mate!.
But with the middle single coil, will definately give you some more tonal options. The pickups I think are a couple of Dimarzio Paf Pro's in the neck and bridge and a jem single coil in the middle I think. I think a couple of dudes here have this model. But the RGA is very nice indeed, I am a sucker for arch tops too, both my axe's are archtops and you cannot beat a bit of flame maple Bro. Good luck with whatever axe you end up with, look forward to the pics and clips....:)

You could buy a nice Musicman for that price mate. Lots of fixed bridge models and THE BEST customer care I've ever seen. The Silhouette is a great model as is the Steve Morse (2YD) and Steve Lukather (Luke) models. The Petrucci might be too metal for ya but ALL have Di Marzio pups.
Go on the forum at www.ernieball.com , look in the Musicman section and you'll see Sterling Ball there as 'Big Poppa' happily answering questions. They go out of their way to be helpful and the finished product is like a Bentley.
They also tell you where the good stuff is getting shipped so you can track it down! There's a great section for anybody hunting down a Ball...that's how I scored my SM.
I have a nice pair of Balls myself you know

Johnny, my RGs are basswood so I don't think you're gonna get a Les Paul sound from them. There are mahogany with maple cap RGs that'll come close but then the scale is longer. I think they are well suited for hard rock and will get great humbucker tone coupled with the fact that they are very light, ergonomic, and so sweet to play. There is NOTHING like a Wizard neck.
I've never been a Les Paul person and, although I thought it might be nice to own one, have never had enough GAS pains to bother buying one.
Here's my current fave player:

I've locked the bridge so I can not pull up. This allows rock solid stability and palm resting without going sharp. You could use the trem arm as a diving board and the guitar will not get knocked out of tune upon return. You will fatigue your arm before you throw the tuning out. It takes two seconds to unlock it if you so desire.

Very nice bro,..real nice! Yeah, I was never a Les Paul fan either. I've owned a few but I always seem to go back to my Strats and the Paul's just sat under the bed..LOL I've sold them off or traded up. I'm def going to try an RGA321F or The model you have. Can I ask what model is the one pictured. I really like the idea of the single coil in the configuration!
Thanks for all the help bro!
