Well I dont have a garden so....

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh192/paulscape/DSC03698copy.jpg

Since this photo was taken I gave away two cheap OLP guitars, bought another OLP cherry burst (because they are awesome cheapies) and thinking about buying a Taylor acoustic. The only guitar I am still looking for is a Tobacco Sunburst Peavey Wolfgang.

Cheers

I have a Peavey Wolfgang Tobacco Sunburst.

How about I swap you my collection for yours. It's more or less the same, give or take a couple.... maybe 10...

Oh yeah those OLP MM1's rock! Superb necks and easy to play. Good pickups too for the price. Ive owned 3. I just got rid of the two in the picture above and bought a cherry burst one with floyd (as seen on my Elmwood video). Id like a real Ernie Ball Axis but these things aren't bad value at all. They cost me $150 here in china for the floyd version.

Mondola - if you want to sell your Wolfgang I would be interested... on top of my collection I will throw in my amps ;) But seriously if your keen let me know!

Jem has been brought to the front. Its funny that is probably my favourite guitar but I dont play it nearly enough. I think it needs re-fretting.

Cheers

Hiya mate. Sorry if I got your hopes up. Unfortunately, just as you wouldn't be keen on swapping your 20 odd guitars for the 3 I have, equally, i wouldn't want to sell my Wolfgang.

Lovely collection there though ,ate.

WOW now i dont feel so bad nice collection!!

Hey one guitar we have in common is the 61 reissue SG i just bought a 2006 .
And i have to say it has the nicest neck i have ever played(60's slim taper) period!!!.
What do you think of the stock pup's in it? do you have them set a little on the high side like me.
I also have a 2007 Lespaul Standard with the 60's slim taper neck as well and i think i'am hooked for life. The Burst Bucker pro's are really hot pup's i wish i had them in the 61 SG they have their own very distinctive sound very cutting kind of early Led Zep sound. And the neck pup's can even pull off some Fender style blues riff's as well.Have you ever tried the Busrtbucker pro's?.

OLP are just awesome budget guitars. They are a licenced copy of the Ernie Ball Musicman Axis guitars. Check em out. Very nice necks and pickups for such cheap guitars. Cheers

The SG 61 is great except is goes out of tune a bit. I would like to replace the tuners and get the nut looked at. I quite like the stock pups in the gibson...they're quite fat and earthy. I haven't tried burstbuckers but Im considering using some WCR pickups like fillmores and darkbursts. I put a WCR herc in the washburn N4 and its awesome. Way better than the Bill Lawrence L500 which I found too fizzy. Check out WCR pickups if you can.

The SG was weird at first for me because the neck is so flexible. Thought it was a design fault. I love the frets tho...they're narrow but slightly high like a van halen guitar. I can set the action real low. I haven't changed the pickup height...but they're quite high from the factory.

I know what you mean about the neck feeling very long and out there.I am an SG guy from way back it was my first really good guitar when i was 16.The problems that you describe are like my SG standard i replaced the tunners with Shchaller locking tunners but that only helped a little....Check the nut like you said but also check the bridge height if it is set too high then huge problems can arrise. My best advice is to take it to a real pro...not just any music store Joe, A guy with 20 years expierience and have him give it the works. The 61 reissue is a very expensive well made guitar one of Gibsons finest.I just had my guitar tech go over my 61 from stem to stern (he has done my guitars for 25 years) and he had to file some of the nut down. The other thing to look for is that the string tree or brace is not set too low.If you want i can post some macro shots of my set up to give you something to go by and take some measurments for you to compare to as well.My SG never goes out even with the retro green keys still on it.

P.S this picture is from 1979 and shows my Walnut SG with the original dirty finger pup's
