Today we visited Whitby , but by gum was it cold . I suspected something was wrong when local transport consisted of teams of Huskies pulling sleds . Children were offered ice-picks instead of the usual bucket and spade , and Eskimos had commandeered all the deck chairs .
I would of had photos but my humble camera will not operate at below -40c . Seal and Whale had replaced fish and chips on the menu and after snapping a dog of a lamp post we quickly started a fire below our fuel tank and hastened our getaway .

Anybody else have a nice Easter day out .

Not today, but on Good Friday we took the little 'un to meet a real life Thomas and his friends (Daisy, Diesel, Toad, Henry, and Spencer).

Was great. Snapped a few pics, but I don't like posting pics of me kid on t'internet.

Only gripe was Thomas looked like someone had grabbed his tackle or he'd taken something beforehand. His eyes were just too bulging for me, and his eyebrows were all wrong.

Still, the little one was beside herself at the thought of actually meeting him and going on a ride in one of his carriages, so she didn't notice the glaring irregularities.

Rest of the weekend was spent entertaining, and today I am on call (typing this from work while I replicate a live site issue).

We went to the beach, and having managed to stay dry all day I had to wade into a stream on the way out to rescue two of the little darlins.....
Not your standard stretch of sand, which we do have nearby, but a remote rocky beach with a fair walk to get to it, much more fun :)

I know how you feel mate. Me and Annie always thought about it. Lippy got married in Whitby and we had the time of our lifes. Be down here for good tho now I've got bairns and I want to do the best for them. Whitby is BEST in the winter IMO. Especially when the sea is a mile high with a 70mph wind...wonderful when you live 100 miles from the sea in any direction as I do. :thumb:
