Hi everyone! I have a 1963 Ibanez 882 that needs a neck. The neck is twisted and I'm in the middle of plaining it to get it straight again. I removed the fretboard and plained it so it now lays on the neck pretty striaght.,...BUT,..does anyone have an old Ibanez from the 60s that they don't want anymore. Like if the body it wasted or it just doesn't work any longer and it has a good neck!!,..I would be interested in buying it from you. Or you know a friend that may have one in the corner of a basement or something? Let me know! Here is the style neck I'm looking for! The Guitar pictured here is not mine and is on ebay atm,..but it's the same neck I need. It's kind of a bummer that this neck is twisted,..because the 9th fret inlay on my neck is in the 10th fret postion. That was an opps at the factory when installing the inlays!
Thank you!

Sorry, I can't help, but I love to see another person that will take an older guitar and give it a better home like I did when I bought my Yamaha recently.

I agree man and thank you! It's not like I wanna gig the guitar or anything I just want it to play. It's not an expensive guitar or a Sault after one! It's just an El-cheapo but kinda cool Surf guitar!

Do you think a Fender neck would fit? Let me know if you need pics of the neck joint and such.

Hey Johnny.

Cant you get a neck from Allpart's or Warmouth...someone like that? or does it have to be the same age as the guitar. You know 63 was a fantastic year.

Yeahm,..I could do that,..but I would like to keep it original. Believe me,..it's not a rare guitar but it's cool as hell. It's all original as it sits. This is what we are doing,...and I've seen this work before. Like I said a few post up,..I removed the finger board and plained the under side of it to compensate for the twist. After remounting the board to the neck it's pretty much straight now. We also block plained the top of the fret board to a 9 1/2 radius. Now it's nice and level (well as best it can be) Now we are going to install new frets and then level them. This should make it playable. (Not perfect,..but playable!) I would just like to find one of these necks so the guitar is in original form and doesn't have a twisted neck. After I get it all together I'm going to post some pics of it so everyone can see this twisted mess. Ive seen these guitars on ebay,..but they always want like 3 to 5 hundred for them! BUT,..never one that is wrecked for parts. Sucks man!

BTW,..nice color on the Strat you're painting in the picture there! Can ya post some pics of it?
