Just whipped this together quickly to show realistic this game looks. Crysis has just a slight edge over it but amazing none the less.

Cpu = Q6600

Looks neat. I bought COD1, and later on grabbed COD2 ptp. Had lots of fun single player but not so much with multiplayer mode. No way to get in a tank or fly a plane, just shoot, shoot, shoot.

Rented this some weeks or months ago on PS3 (supposedly looks best on PS3 believe it or not) and thought it brilliant. Sadly the single player campaign only lasted about 4 or 5 hours. A HUGE dissapointment in that respect. And considering I don't have my PS3 online it was probably just as well I didn't buy it. But technically brilliant game for sure.

I had to play it on xbox360 at a friends. Damn it was boring, haha. But I'm not a big fan of shooters, especially when I can't use a mouse and keyboard.

What I did love about it (besides the great detail in the visuals and sound) was that you play much of the Campaign as an SAS fellow. That was a thrill, as a Brit I get tired of being some random American guy. Helped me get into it more. It's a shame they are going back to WWII for COD5.

Wow played this for the first time tonight. That tanker assault at the start is amazing. So is the night time assalt on the ruined city with all the smoke. Can't get past that tank though. I do feel like the single player version is a little bit on rails. I wish I could play multiplayer against a load of bots just to practice and explore with out getting taken out...

Played on multiplayer and got my ass served to me on a silver platter... with french fried potatoes :(

But this game is the most realistic I've seen yet. Crysis and Farcry 2 is up next!! Woohoo!

I love the multiplayer and the ranking system unlocking features as you progress. I prefer COD4 to Crysis only because Crysis seems far fetched and unreal. The graphics are nicer with DX10 in Crysis but I wouldn't say the game makes COD4 pale in comparisson. Actually, COD4 looks amazing and plays much better (more fluid). The next game I buy will be FarCry2.

Hans, we should hook up on multiplay. I am totally addicted to this game now.

Definitely...but I really suck. More so than at playing guitar! Black Hawk Down was my true skill. Weird how you can perform so badly in one game and better in another and yet the game concepts are so similar.

I added the name HansHolz in COD4 so people here could find me (and frag me). I'd like to start off with a fairly low populated server (8?) and work up from there. Next time I'm on line here at GB, and it's late night in Euroland and I see you online, I'll jet you a PM. Lets hope you're not at work! :D

If you play it online give me a buzz.
Haven't played online for couple weeks now though.

OK...I used nickles, dimes, and quarters, but I got a copy. It was on sale at "worst buy" for $39 this week. Will load it up right now and check it out.

I'm right at the end of the game (I think) on single player. Just past the missile silo level. ...and have gone down into the network of tunnels underneath the base.

I am well up for a multiplayer game with about 8 or so. I don't like the un realistic Quake 3 style frag fests where you respawn every 30 seconds. If one bullet will take you out for the rest of the game you'll find that that usually slows the pace down and people treat the game like real life.

There are numerous multiplay modes. Free for all sucks. The one you'd like is domination or headquarters where when you're out your out till an objective is met. Could take some time. :)

I just made it to 1st Lieutenant and got some nice perks along the way. Do yourself a favor and save the "players" subfolder somewhere cuz if that gets fucked you will be placed back at level 1 and lose all you worked for in multiplay.

I've hardly played the single player I done a few levels but I couldn't be bothered. As soon as I installed it I went straight online, didnt even know the controls. Just jumped in the deep end.

Love to but my gaming happens after the kid goes to bed - like 8:30 EST. I try to get in as much time with him as I can after I get home from work and before he's out cold for the rest of the evening.

I finished the single player mode. Really nice action. One part kept cracking me up where I was carrying this guy around looking for a spot behind a ferris wheel. Couldn't find it!! LOL. He looked like a stuffed animal I had to keep putting down and forgetting where I put him! :)

The multiplayer is way intense. You die quickly, and the "kill cam" was nice for 5 or so times, but I want to respawn and jump back in. I wish the maps were bigger though. Small from what I have seen so far.

I love this game. I am at Captain II now. Sergio, just hit "F" to bypass the killcam and jump back in.

I was tempted to name myself "Heineken Skywalker" but I chose "Spork" since I was eating some Popeye's chicken at the time...and the idea just occured to me when reaching for the spoon/fork. :)

Find me...and kill me....if you can. :)

Yeah COD4 is awesome. I always preach about how bad war is, but then when I play this Im like 'Damn too cool'. Loved the atomic bomb part and the end of the game on the plane. There's so many boring games out there, so many games all the same...but at least COD4 has some nouse behind it in terms of the story and playability.

I just wish they would release GTA san andreas and SSX for the xbox360.

Hey Pete...now I am a level 44 General. Not that it means much, but I finally figured out how to work a good "airstrike."

Love to meet up at some point. It's in my daily rotation...(check email, check-in here, play 20 mins or so of COD4....and make some music in between).
