This is a work in progress..but i'm out the door to Aberdeen & the oil rig in 10 mins!..i aint faded the end out yet due to lack of time..but just whacked it up here for any comments :) This is a true story about a lad called Arty who now has the initials BP!.Hehehe..& his attempt to blow up his housing estate in about 1975...He thought a touch of propane cylinder would get Bonfire night (Guy Fawkes night) off to a good start!..needless to say that windows went in for 1/2 mile around & how nobody was killed was unbelievable!..Ladies & gents!..I bring to you "Arty & his big bang Orchestra!"..hehhe
Enjoy

What a huge mix! There are so many elements that I really need to download this and listen to the many layers you have going on here...acoustic...those lovely harmonies on the chorus, the great bass, and the slides....amazing piece of music. What the hell do you need to be on a rig for?? Loose that day job!
You can make it without that hassle.   Much much respect!! Propane in the bonfire aye? I like it! :)

Finally immortalized ! . Must admit when Mac says *Priestfields* which is where i lived , i laughed like hell . You're a funny guy Mac and you can sing it too .
The event still rings clear in my ears . a night of lucky escapes and stupidity , but hey i was growing up and always getting into mischief of one kind or another

I had decided to blow up the bottle earlier in the day , all 104ilbs of it . It was dragged by me and 3 others around half a mile to the side of a beck where we waited until it was time . .At around 21.00 the Bottle was dragged onto a half dead Bonfire some 3ft high and around 16ft in diameter .We quickly ran and took shelter around 100 yards away on a beckside embankment . Some time went by .At one point some unknown guys walked over to the fire . We alerted them immediatly about the bottle and they scarpered . Then something happened that i will never ever forget . A friend with me decided to go find out why the bottle had not gone off after some half hour of waiting .We all told him not too , but he went regardless . To this day i can still see him now silhouetted against the burning embers , this shadowy figure with a stick , pushing the glowing red propane bottle a little further into the furnace . Why it never went up i will never know . He is the luckiest guy living .

He returned and we were about to give up and go when .................................................. .................................................. .................
BOOM! , the whole neighborhood lit up like somebody had turned the sun on . There was a brief moment when all the air was sucked up from around us . The blast which sounded not high pitched but very sub bassy pushed me back almost over . The boom took out many windows ,then up went the fireball which took the shape of a giant orange mushroom . A massive glowing tower of burning gas . Impulsively we ran . and ran and ran .

Cutting this story short the following day i visited the bomb site . Unsurprisingly the Bonfire and bottle had gone .The ground had a delve which resembled a dried up pond . The event got a write up in the evening newspaper . Im just glad it was a story about a stupid action/prank , and not a murder inquiry ..

Thanks for the song Mac :)

Another great song here building up a musical diary of your life. The nice slides and relax feel to the music draws your attention to the story. This is building to a fantastic compilation of songs. *****

Another cracker! I did something similar lighting a gas bottle as a kid while living on an estate that was still being built. One of the workmen turned it off, gave us the bollocking of our lives and told our Dads, we hated him as he was always chasing us away from our "playground", most of them didn't care. Only years later I realised what we must have put him through  So, Dai Dumper, Cheers man :thumb: Your songs are really taking me back to my own childhood, keep 'em coming!

Great stuff mate, i don't think a song can get more original then this tbh, and it tells a great story too :) , the backing and instruments sound great, especially liked the acoustics, great tone and playing, very cool vocals two, liked how you had one style on the verses, and another on the chorus, worked great, 5s :thumb:

It does tell a great story indeed , excellent acoustics along with the slide work here, the vocals reminded me of something but i can't put my finger on it, nevertheless they sounded great and ofcourse the lyrics were excellent , everything sounded top notch , 5 stars mate :)
