Hey Johnny! Great start, tho I am sure you could have fitted a few more bends in there :D Liked the changes, broke it up and made it more interesting to listen. Great tone and control too. Bet this has a few ppl rethinking their ideas for it

You underestimate your ability Steve(even though in fun).I had a listen to your entry
and you have good feel to your bends and vibrato....only a natural has those capabilities to play by ear like that.:)

John, far from crap, your lead playing is way better than my drumming! And I am sure I detected a hint of a scale in there too :D Quite a few entries already, keep 'em coming guys :woot:

I have enjoyed all entries so far, talented guys you are...maybe I will get around to this myself :)
Great bunch of textures and feels here fella's!!!! really cool to hear the different tones and approach to how this one is played. from Johnny's searing gain, to Dalla's ultra clean approach, all are fantastic.....yea Steve, even YOU!! LOL!!! Really a blast to do these kind of things right??!! Although, a 30sec fill would have suited my skill SO much better!!! LOL!!!:woot:

so far this is going to be a hard contest to judge. i listened to all the entrys so far and i'm glad i'm not in this competition. that backer is so cool to jam to that its easy to get caught up in melodies and such and its easy to forget that its a vibrato and bend contest. so far all the entrys have been great.

Naif .. Now thats what I wanted to do with it! Fine bit of bluesy playing there, with bends to die for. Nailed!!!
Parker ... Very fluid jazzier feel to yours I thought, great tone!!!
Going to go back and listen to mine now, this is going to hurt  Ah well, I didn't want to have to choose next months theme anyway
Great entries all, still time for more tho......

Thanks Steve
what dictated the way my solo sounded were the bends i tried to pull off.I wanted to do a more bluesy type feel but felt compelled to put in as many bends as i could.
Funny how that can shape the sound and feel of your solo's and take you away from your original style.I thought it was interesting to listen to on the playback it is not the type of thing i would have normally done.
And thats why these contest's are fun to do they force you to play in accordance to the guidlines. And that opens up new idea's and ways of doing things that you may not have normally thought about.
p.s i felt like a snake charmer with these bends and vibratos!.
