This months host is Eamon7 :)

The theme for May is Bends And Vibrato, the rules are simple, you play along to the backer provided, in any style or with any tone you want, but all entrys will be judged on the quality of your bends and vibrato, so keep that in mind when you are recording.

Please submit your entrys in to the Entry Thread, and feedback in the Feedback thread, you have til the 26th of May to get your entrys in, and then a poll will run for 7 days after then.

Best of luck everyone, look forward to hearing your entrys, and again thank you to Eamon7 for hosting this months comp :thumb:

Had a listen to the backing track and sounded very melodic nice choice. One question though is this a whammy bar included contest?.I always think of bends and vibrato as being sans whammy bar hands and fingers only ala Clapton.

Thanks Parker

I totally agree. I think it should be just your fingers,..It wouldn't be fair to use a whammy.
Not all have one!

Well i don't think we can exclude tremwork, when it comes to voting, everyone should be judging specifically on the bending and vibrato, i know the trem can be used as a form of vibrato, but i think we have to let the voters decide what works, banning anyone from using the trem would be near impossible to inforce imo, and hopefully everyone who enters will do so in the spirit of the competition.

hey Avalon

No, i wasnt trying to get the trem arm banned i was just wondering if there was clearly definned rules as to what could be used.:)

Like Johnny mentioned. I dont have a working tremelo, whammy bar in my arsenal of guitars(my Strats all have blocked trems)....i guess i got Vanhalened out in the 80's and actually grew to detest the overdone and prodigious use of it.Only lately have i found a couple of players that i dont mind listennig to who use it.

Yeah,..darn it! I really don't care,..it's just that when a whammy is used for vibrato and bends compared to your fingers,..it's a totally different thing! Like I said,..it's cool with me,..it's just different,..ya know!!?

Was only kidding, will post if I get it done. Bottom of a long list at the moment tho. Track is a bit long for me, more of an instrumental than a jam, and that aint my forte! I only know about 5 licks off one scale, and I play them in a different order for each solo I do :wtf:

well steve you don't have to play along to the whole song. i agree its plenty long. just play a minute or two and fade it out after you get your point across.
