I have never watched this show...ever...until the other night and I saw a young guy and a slightly older guy going head to head. I liked the singer with a beard, but I have been reading all the buzz about how the cute kid is really a great singer. I think they were both excellent, but I would agree the better vocalist won tonight. Was very cool watching some of the entertainment. Like ZZ Top.
But there was a black guy who could really belt it out, and I had not seen him. That guy was awesome!
Agree? Disagree? Ever watch it? :)
Yea Serg....he's Chikezie Eze. he was one of my favorites right up front, but i guess there weren't enough that dug him, so he got voted off earlier on. i really think you'll see him somewhere before long. can't imagine some producer not primeing him for the next Luther Vandross or something.. Here's a couple he did during the season.....:thumb:

Oh wow!! Thanks big J!! Imo...that's the real "winner!" What an outstanding vocalist!!!...I have no idea why this guy got cut???!!! One of the most amazing voices I have ever heard! Thanks for sharing this. I loved these clips!!!  No discredit to any of the folks participating...they can all belt them out...but to me, this guy is above the crowd. Just a pleasure to listen to him!!
I think Chikezie failed to get enough votes because he insisted on performing old R&B tunes that aren't familiar to the viewers. Also, to be honest, I thought Chikezie was much, much, much better at singing rock songs than R&B.

i have watched most of this year due to my daughters obsession with the davids. i have to admit that this year had the most talent of them all and the right guy won. both davids deserved to win. i personally liked david auchelera (can't spell). i thought he was an amazing talent.

I am sick to death of all these programs, Shannon insists on watching them all :( Britain's got talent is giving me suicidal leanings. Only one I enjoyed was Tommy Lee's Rockstar.

My wife watches these all the time.I hate the british one as it is utter crap!! But...the american one this year was pretty good .Dave Cook could easily sing in any rock band and is a talented singer who took risks with his choice of songs and turned them into his own.The right one won it this year.By the way I also thought Tommy lee's rockstar, last year, was pretty good as well. This was pretty special though....

I have a soft spot for Brooke White. She reminds me of Carly Simon only way better looking. I'm sure we'll be seeing...err hearing more of her.

I watched most all season and found myself hanging around the American Idol forum site, where I got temporarily banned 3 times. :) David Cook is from my hometown, so there was quite a lot of hype about him around these parts. Lots of our local newscasters and footage of KC were featured on A.I. so it was kind of exciting for me to watch. One thing that this show has really opened my eyes to (or perhaps it is mainly the forum sites I have visited on the show) is just how differnetly people interpret things. So many people have opposing opinions and interpret things oppositely. Also, the A.I. forum boards are loaded with idiot sheep who follow whatever is put in front of their face (too many people believe what Simon says at face value, IMO. Far too mnay people think he is some sort of talent god, as if his commentaries are fact. I don't know HOW many times I had to point out to people that Simon is not "right" nor does the tell the "truth," as there is no "right" or "truth" in subjective opinions). Anyway, I am really glad the season is over, because I am tired of aguing with people. :D

Hello KC
One thing i noticed in the very few times i watched AI was that the band was not that great, mainly the guitar player (Black Guy) he seemed out of place and his solos dind't seem to compliment the singers but seemed to battle them for position and convoluted the song they were trying to sing.

I watched the show faithfully from the season's start. David Cook(the winner) was by far the best singer/performer, IMO!!! I picked him to win it about half way through the season. He had a real talent of taking songs and re-arranging them and making them his own. His cover of "Billie Jean" being one of the best. A really talented young man. Funny thing...he didn't plan to audition. He only went for moral support for his brother who was auditioning.

I agree, however there has been some debate about how much of those songs were "re-arranged" by him. For instance, his version of Billie Jean was actually done that way originally by Chris Cornell (from Soundgarden/Audio Slave) and there was one other that he supposedly did that was previously done in that style by someone else (I think it was Eleanor Rigbey). I applaud him for choosing a fresh approach to a song, but I think they were not his original ideas to re-interpret them that way. But he still sang them as good or better than the original re-interp!
