I had a good listen through all of the entry's and everyone desrves a round of aplause for entering their own version of this blusey laid back tune.Everybodys own unique style and flair showed in the bends and vibratos they pulled off.
But the one that caught my ear was JPF(John) Nice tone and sustain on your vibrato's and i liked your approach to the more melodic lines in the song, plus you wern't affraid to use the higher registers all the way up to the last frett.
Good goin, Great Playin!:woot:

A practically impossible choice .. Went for Naif in the end as he did what I was trying to do, just way better!! Fantastic level of entries for this one guys, and a big well done to you all, any entry could be the winner still!
Thanks for the vote Dallas, had quite a shock when I saw it, was not expecting to get any this month :thumb:

well dallas has pulled his so i didnt get to hear his entry, i also didnt listen to SG's entry..i dunno, i think these should be fresh recordings not something pulled out of a 5 year catalogue of tunes..doesnt seem to be in the spirit of fun to me
sorry, but thats just my view.
i would imagine a lil comp like this is very tempting to overdo things...i reckon i would lol..but parkers entry i thought, had the perfect mix. so he gets my vote.

jim.

Sorry everyone....didn't even consider that it should be recorded specifically for the contest. I just thought that it fit the criteria so, I posted it. I'll remove it.

Well normally i'd agree with you Jim, on this occasion i thought it was ok though, as Robbies take was on the correct backer, and if anything, the old recording may have even hindered him, as recording has changed alot since then, and he could probably do a better version now on recording quality alone, so i didn't feel he was gaining any advantage over the other contestants.
I think from next month on we'll alter the rules of entry to included New Recordings Only, not because of this, but just to clarify the situation for everyone.

I removed the two entrants from the poll who removed their tunes. I wish I could have heard them. For this month's contest, I liked what I heard and the different approaches. Good to hear from you guys! I picked Parker for his variety. Kept it flowing with ideas. Nice job guys! :thumb: :thumb:

Well that was tough!!! I don't think ive listened so intently to 5 pieces of music in my life. Great stuff guys, how you can all play so awesomely on such a long backer and keep the jam interesting while still pulling of the vibrato and bends theme is beyond me. Excellent stuff all of you. In the end i had to go with Parker this month.

Tough one . I thought JPF very cool with a nice tone . Naz was cleaned up and thus the tune had more nice gaps . Parker had a lush distortion and some nice bottom end ............. I enjoyed the other guys too but my vote goes to Naz
Ahh buggah .too late
