Hi Guys,
I've been checking out the Guitar Idol 08 site over the weekend, did'nt realise how big this thing was and was great fun checking out some of the entries, lots of talent there. Great to see a couple of familiar faces from here in the contest. I would never have had the guts to enter, way over my depth I think, but came across some great BT's which were available to download and this one took my face and had I had the guts to enter and been a bit earlier I may have entered it. I've called it 'Forsaken Souls'. Its a bit more aggressive than I what I normal do, If you don't like metal then turn back now!, :) crank it loud if you listen as well hehe. let me know what you think anyone if you check i out!. Justin. :)

As always mate i really enjoyed it, alot darker then your usual style, but your playing still fits great, as you know i really like how you play, the tones you use, and the control you display too, not only in your picking, phrasing and choice of notes, but also your speed too, how you wait for the right moment to use the faster runs, its something that screams talent to me.
Imo you'd stand as good a chance as anyone in Guitar Idol, i rate you very highly as a guitarist and musician, and you're selling yourself very short to say you'd be out of your depth, i think you have one of the best alround abilitys of probably anyone here, i know its impossible to compair ppl etc, but your style of play is very interesting to listen to, your song writing is excellent and enjoyable, and you very talented on keyboards too, in my book that puts you well up there :)
Anyhow, great piece, loved the harmonys too, 5 stars :thumb:

Hey Jam, Thanks very much mate.Well, the BT was pretty dark and thought it would be a challenge. My jaw just dropped when I saw the amount of entries in Guitar Idol, so much talent, and me being just a bedroom guitarist, was a bit intimidating LOL. I think the contest has ended now, I'm just not the competitive type when it comes to music though, being completely selftaught, I'm still not confident around the fretboard. Thanks for the words of encouragement Bro and for taking the time to check it out! :thumb:

Reading that you're a self taught , bedroom guitarist (like myself) has given me at least some hope that one day ill beable to put up something as good as this. Really great playing and tone. As Avalon said you mix great note choices, phrasing and runs and come up with awesomely catchy melody lines (even in this darker than usual piece). Big fan of your stuff mate.:thumb:

Well i think Jam pretty much said what i was thinking aswell mate , it takes far more balls to step out into your own light and make your own style heard then to emulate like millions of others do and i agree with Jam you have this very unique /captivating style that just pulls you in , although theres alot of talented guitarists on here and alot of other places, your still the only one i can listen to and get goosebumps lol , your phrasing , tones , playing and the way you apply them is fantastic Justin and theres no way in cats hell your out of your depth in some guitarist comp :)
Your a fine guitarist and a fine musician mate , never think any diffrently , fantastic work on this aswell , 5 stars

Hey Mart, thanks very much for checking it out and your comments Bro, I really appreciate it. Well, I've never had much confidence on guitar mainly because I don't actually know any chords or scales (or at least what their names are) I just pick things out by ear, so I just wing everything basically.I don't know what it is but I just cannot be bothered to learn the theory of guitar at all, keyboards is a lot easier in that department. Its easier to work out the techniques rather than the blueprints, LOL. Anyways thanks again and to Jam, Lippy, Andy for the stars. :)
Man do not worry....you got a great style....I like it alot....
I am also one who has chased ones own voice for a long long time...
Anyways...cool choice of notes, love the execution of them....cool stuff all in all!!

Hey Niels, Thanks man for checking it out and commenting. My approach to the guitar is very much non-traditonal, just how I've coped with picking it up so always try to get my own style but you can never stop the influences coming out LOL. Thanks again Bro.:thumb:
Those squeals gave me chills! What a fantastic piece J

Hey Park,
Thanks very much Bro for checking it out and comments. I'm not really a heavy metalist as such, don't have 7 strings and active pickups LOL, but had a good bash at it. Glad you enjoyed listening, that's what its about for me. Thanks again. :thumb:
