This is a song I wrote for my band, I played/programmed all instruments. Started the song on Saturday afternoon and have just finished it.

POD XT tone on the git, Fruity Loops 8 (EZD, Syntheway Strings VST, Bassboom), mastered in Adobe Audition 3

I sang along to it to give Neil the lead singer an idea of how the melody might sound - so vocals are only a rough cut...he's much better than I am.

I'm terrified this might sound like something that I have subconsciously heard before. And so have been deliberately staying away from music from this genre to avoid plagiarism, so please let me know what I've ripped off...

Here's "Forever's now Whatever"...

I gave it a thourgh listen and didnt think you ripped anyone off Hanz, sounded great.I really liked the Beatlesque type horns at the begining along with the guitar fade across (full effect if using headphones like i was) and the string synth lines fitted well with the power chord guitar structure.

Also the drum program was bang on too. Maybe you feel like you have heard this before because it is new British sounding in its verse and chorus lines...along the lines of Supergrass and Porcupine tree (sic).Overall it was very well done and when polished in the final cut will be a first class song.

Great Going French Fried Friend :)

Nothing springs to mind on the subconscious plagiarism front. Sounds great too.

Just a very cool original mate! You can always try and draw similarities with other stuff but nobody else has written this compostion, you have. Therefore its all original. Any comparisons are merely coincidental ( just my 2p worth). Your drums are great as usual and loved the bass line. Well structured with a real catchy groove in the verses and a stand out chrous melody. Great stuff. Can't wait to hear the finished version.

well the only thing I hear is a good original..I will say your voice is a little similar to Dave Mustaine's. (now I am in no way inferring that this sounds like Megadeth of course:) ).............I think your vox work well good on this...This is quality mate,,,

I can honestly say it does not remind me of anything ....it is a catchy toon that if it came on the radio whilst driving I would crank up and not turn the channel..

nice work mate.

Thanks all for checking it out. I'm reassured to hear that it doesnt sound like anything familiar.

The band are working on this as a group and I hope to be able to post a live studio version soon! Thanks again

Dude, I have a feeling that Yanni is going to be knocking on your door looking for royalty checks for this obvious plagiarism!!!

Just kidding, of course. :) I sensed a small amount of similarity in style to other music, but not to any specific band/artist, so no worries. Maybe a cross between Megadeth and The Cure is about as close as I can get to any comparisons. I thought this was a great tune. If your singer is better than you, this will be a hit, as I thought your vocals were pretty good and well developed with harmonies. This is a great demo. I really liked your drums which were well programmed and sound pretty realistic, as did the bass. If your band records this eventually, i hope you post it up here. Cool tune. :thumb:
