Another one from my band recorded tonight at rehearsal. I seem to remember Naif doing a cool acoustic version of this song. Anyway here's our version.

Sarah - Bass and Lead vocals
Simon - Acoustic Guitar
Neil - Drums
Hans - Electric Guitar and Backing Vox

Sounds pretty awesome. Sarah has an excellent voice. Guitar work and the band are pretty tight. Kind of a trick recording with a live drummer - the snare seems a little dead - but the rest is recorded well. Cool to see some Nada Surf get posted - they're probably only remembered around here for "Popular." Interestingly, they covered a song by a band from about an hour away from where I live in Kansas - Why Are You So Mean to Me by Vitreous Humor. Cool post!

I am gonna have to go find the original of this as it seems a band I could easily get into.:)

This was excellent, she has a beautiful voice, you and the band sound great on this. Lovely stuff...:bowdown:

Hi KSDB. Thanks for the listen. We spent a long time trying to get the drums right. Even to this level took weeks, the snare could come out more but it was clipping as it is. I need to experiment with some more EQing.

Marky-Mark...NadaSurf are definitely worth a listen, their best album for me is the one that this song came from; "The Weight is Gift". I will get a selection of their stuff on fileshare this week for you. Just very well crafted pop-rock-songs. Plus, if Naif and me both like them....isn't that proof enough? :banana: :) :lol:

Cool! Brilliant version guys! This was the song that really got me listening to Nada Surf about 2 years ago (even tho I had actually saw them live about 10 years ago). Great song, and I think you did it justice.
Ya captured that feelgood vibe this song has in a great way.

Also, I agree ya should check out "the weight is a gift", mark.

Hey Naif, SG and Stevo...Thanks for checking it out. Nada Surf have so many great songs that could be covered, its hard to resist doing all of them. But we didnt wanna get labelled a NS tribute band. So for now we only cover a couple. The other ones are "The Way You Wear Your Head" and "Blizzard of 77". Both songs I've covered by myself in the past and posted either here or on "the other site" :D

Sounded great James, once i had downloaded it that is, theres some kind of chipmunk plugin on the site player. As said you guys are real tight, nice guitar work by your goodself! :banana:
