View Full Version : Goo Goo Dolls acoustic with vanman2000
DLYNN had requested a backing track for this song, I guess about a year ago, and never saw whether she posted her vocal version. Bob, aka the Toastmaster, recently posted a request for some Goo Goo Dolls in the File Share forum, so I thought it might be fun to revisit the project. As a GGD fan, Bob says he was able to sing this one from memory and in some respects, his voice is a little bit similar to John Rzeznik. It's appropriately titled Acoustic No. 3. The fingerpicking pattern wasn't super complicated, but when you're a sloppy player like me, it's a challenge to lay down a clean track at a steady tempo all the way through. I probably looped this, but don't remember now. Anyway a big toast to the Toastmaster for lending his talents!

This is a great cover lad's! :thumb:
The Goo Goo's Dolls are a great band, but sadly they're only remembered for Iris over here.

Nice job guys, way too short though, like the original. I guess less is more sometimes, and this is a good example. I enjoyed this a lot! Easy 5****

Nice little song. That acoustic picked riff would have had me banging my head against the wall. You did great.
Vanman should definitely feature more here than he does. Great voice.
Don't know the original but you might have just turned me on to the Goo Goo Dolls! Thanks for posting.

I'll sing the Goo's all day long, lol. Unfortunately, I don't think the folks around here are interested in hearing me do karaoke all day. :dammit:

I would love to be around more but I'm really at the mercy of you guys. Being a singer who plays a bit of bass but no guitar, I have to wait around until someone offers me a gig, lol. Mac and I have something cooking soon though.

Yeah that was great! Lovely sound on the acoustic and really well played. The vox i could listen too all day, fitted this style of song superbly. Not heard much of the Goo Goo Dolls but really liked this. Cracking cover!!:)

Havent heard the original but this is brilliant !!
Mix sounds great.... guitar, strings and vocals are superb.... 5 stars definitely
Thanks for the comments. This was a little tricky to produce because I sequenced the cello part in midi and then needed to play the guitar in time at the same tempo, which was kind of hard with the fingerpicking pattern. :bigcry:
Fortunately it was a short song.

Very short but definetly sweet , lovely little number here guys with a warm acoustic driving the song nicely combined with the vocals that carry the rest of the song along in a flowing way , very enjoyable :)
