One of my fave players. Now a shit-hot producer and making lots of money, this shows his band doing 'I'm A Believer' live in the studio...great player and singer and writer and producer and...TWAT! This video came from a Giant dvd that wasn't really an instructional video as much as it was Dan showing how to put stuff down in the studio and how to layer stuff. You could tell he had magic ears then as well as magic hands!
:dj: I was lucky enough to see them at The Marquee when it relocated to Charing Cross Road in about 1993 I think...they were bloody awesome.

'Stay' which has an amazing melodic solo ala Neal Schon meets Gary Moore...shows how he layers different guitars down...very Def Leppard...

Good stuff Wah i can see why you like this guy.:headbang:
Really tight and roaring good tone from his SrtatoTelly...bass and drums cook too.The singer reminds me of the Mr Big in his vocal style and delivery.

Thanks for posting this.

what is sad is how few people know who he is and he is such an amazing talent. i don't know what happened with giant. they had some radio play with" i'll see you in my dreams" but that was it here, i think they came along too late and grunge ended their career before they got enough exposure. funny i was just listening to the time to burn cd last week. i love huffs voice especially on the ballads like lost in paradise etc. i guess i didn't know how tricky that solo on "stay" really was. i knew it sounded cool but after seeing him play it i realize how good he really is on guitar. its funny to hear these songs without the backing vocals too. thanks for posting them chris

They sound just like any other band of that genre to me mate.
Eg. Stay may as well have been Foreigner.

Never get tired of watching that youtube vid.Dan Huff is one of my fav guitarists as well. He's got a great playing technique along with a perfect sense of melodic and timing. No wonder he plays on so many albums and produces, not to mention his killer vocals. I recently purchased Last of the Runaways, have you got that one Chris ?, sure you have but I can put it up for download if not or if anybody wants it.

DEFFO put it up Justin! One of my favourite bands and favourite players too.

Used to have the CD, but loaned it out just before we moved out of the pub we managed ... and the shyster we loaned it to disappeared!

I'm not denying he has talent Big J.
I'm just bored to death of flash harry's 80's left overs and their guitar solo's,
yeah they might be as well talented and technical as fuck, but it does nowt for me.
Anyway Big J, I'm about to add something to File share that might just make yourself,
Dave, Chris & Mondy happy people.....Give it about 30 mins or so :thumb:

Justin, I've got the three albums but never really got into '3' as much as the others. 'Stay' and 'Lost In Paradise' are beautiful songs.

Pete, I play a bit and even after 35 years with a guitar in my hands I could never write a song or solo as well as this and couldn't consider anything Dan Huff does as 'flash'. Crafted, clever, melodic and well written maybe. But I understand that not everything floats everybodies boat...that's why I keep listening to new stuff all the time...same as you mate.
