Any more info you can give us would surely help.
Do you get the blue screen of death when this appears?
What version of windows is it?
Did you make any changes to the computer that may have cause it?
When does it happen, at startup, shutdown, when you run a certain program?

If its that new Pc your running mate i would start with a fresh install and see what happens . If it happens again whilst installing it could be any number of things , Ram or the Hard drive the to 2 most likely culprits .

Reboot and get back to us ! .........HURRY !!

I looked up and found some of your stop errors:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827663
http://www.updatexp.com/0xC0000005.html
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329284

To me, it sounds like bad RAM with all those errors at the same time. Run this utility and let us know (download the precompiled bootable ISO):

http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

If you don't get errors on the extended test, backup your data and reload the OS with the latest drivers from your PC manufacturer (especially Chipset drivers). If you do get errors, consider yourself lucky and replace the RAM. It's cheap these days.

...see what colabing with Arty gets ya. Use a PC condom next time. :)

Heh heh ! One day i might release Geordies out takes , Paris Hilton eat your heart out . On a more serious note :

Geordie , if your hitting the power switch and the motor spins but nothing else , ie no opening screen showing you your bios etc , my experience has taught me the Processor is at fault . Take it out and re-seat it . If that fails put in a different one . If that fails your board could be goosed .

Do you see any writing at all . Are you totally in the dark with just a Power supply spinning . ? More info please .

LMFAO!!!! Where else can a PC question turn into some dirty minded stuff! (J/K)

What Sergio says makes sense, and he knows the buysiness. I would try opening the case, and lifting and putting back on the slots every ram stick, and any other stuff you can pull out of itīs slot. Hardware that is.

Pod God

In your burning program, there should be an option to "burn image" or maybe "burn iso". That is what you want. An ISO file is an exact image of the disk. Do not extract it. The program is located on the bootsector of the CD. If you extract, you lose that. You have to burn the image/iso file using the burn iso/image option.

Looks like a backup & reload of the OS is your next step step. Good luck:thumb:

07-21-2008, 08:53 PM
It does seem like the shortest route is backup your stuff, and reload the OS and all your programs. The PC can possibly be salvaged, but there seems to be some corruption either via virus/malware, or just perhaps a power spike without a surge protector running.

To answer the question about a utility that tests everything....some PC vendors have that on their website. Check and see from your PC manufacturer. In fact most vendors will have you run this before offering you an RMA number. If one is not available, you could try this:
http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?dir=dload&location=sware_dl_3264&langx=en&a=

It will present options to stress test, give you a report of your performance, and is widely used to test overclocking stability. It should give you a better indication at least as to how stable it is. i.e. (if it can't run the benchmarks, then you know something is way wrong).

Last ditch after the backup and before reload would be ccleaner. Do a registry scan and fix. ccleaner is here:http://www.ccleaner.com/

I am not an expert, but those tools should give you a good indication of how to proceed. Good luck Geordie. (the nice thing is if you do have to reload, your PC will never be fresher or faster. It's actually a good thing in the long run).

On the BSOD, besides the error codes, there should be an error message. What was the specific error message?

Are you sure your fans are spinning in the PC and all the dust has been blown out from the CPU fan and system fans? Sounds now like an overheating issue now imo...but....

Could also be a power supply going bad. A simple tester is available for that:
http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=Power+supply+tester&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=5089240952813948135&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&resnum=1&ct=result

The remaining senarios are not good news.... (motherboard problem, HD developing bad sectors and dying, you have lice...etc).

Keep us in the loop. We WANT to hear your vocals!! So we must get your platform stable.

Cheers.

This is very strange . You have my copy of XP too :headscratch: . Im wondering if the Keyboard drivers have had time to kick in , so in essence when your hitting any key , nothing been sent . This did happen to me once so i know its possible . Other than that if your floppy disc is working ok you could Fdisk the hard drive , then when you boot up again it will have no choice but to look for the installation disc .

Or if you have a spare hard drive try booting from that and remove completely the old one , just dissconnect it .

It should work . Is the dvd/rom drive working ok ? .

Ok.
Step #1: leave some space for the mouse to be used. Clear your desk around 50 square inches of bottles and cans.
Step #2: open another bottle or can.
Step #3: turn on the PC (lil button on that big box). You might need to do the same with the monitor.
Step #4: Scratch your balls in the meantime.
Step #5: Once all those lights turned on, open windows media player.
Step #6: See if by chance you got it muted. Beer cans can be mean sometimes.
Step #6: Nero was a Roman emperor. A really bad guy. Almost just as bad as that burning software program. Strictly use it for what it was built for, and that is for Briana Banks movies.

I hope that helps.

The thing about XP lite is I don't know if it has support for the various things you want to load since it's a very minimalized version of the OS...you could be missing things necessary to make things run correctly. If Bluesy has it working with all the apps you want to use, then we know it can work.

There are ways to load the latest version of Media Player from MS and it may help...or not...since it may be dependant on those files you miss with a small footprint OS. Something that sounds similar to MU...*cough"....B-l-i-n-d-e-r..*cough* or something like that?? (I have no idea).. could possibly help with evaluating if that is the problem. Just a thought. Or try winamp. And remember...my name is Robbie if anyone asks. :)
