Great entry Naif, i really loved the theme you carried through all the parts, its the first entry in and it's set an extremely high standard on inventiveness and use of the bt, the concept of taking the song across the 3 styles is just brilliant
Really love this mate, the playing and vocals are just great too, what an excellent opening entry, and best of luck in the comp mate :thumb:

Great work RB, another vocal and guitar entry (which i wasn't expecting at all lol), but as with Naifs entry, this is very original approach and song, loved the lyrics, the harmonys and vocals were excellent, great tones on the guitars, and the playing too really added to where you went with the styles.
The only downside for me was the bt seemed to be in mono, but i'm not sure what you're recording on, maybe its a aside effect of that?, but anyhow, lovely work mate, another first class entry :thumb:

Cant believe how much your voice sounds like Don Henley from the Eagles Runnerbean, you are very lucky to be able to sing in that upper register:bowdown:

Thanks for the kind words. I was using my Vintage AV3 semi. This thing is an INCREDIBLE guitar - it's a 335 for a quarter of the money! This was plugged into (as usual) my Vox ToneLab. The Settings were as follows:
Amp: US HIGAIN
Cabinet: AC30
Treble: 1 o'clock
Middle: 11 o'clock
Bass: maximum
Presence: maximum
Gain: 12 o'clock
VR Gain: 12 o'clock
From there, I just used the guitar volume control to get the variations in gain. I always record my guitar dry, so I wasn't using the effects in the VOX at all. Reverb & chorus were added, at the mixdown, in the Cakewalk software used to record the track.
Hope this tells you what you need :)
Cheers,
John

This is great! So many ways to treat the same track...
Hey, Naifuzan; "Burn in Hell" - fantastic. Great guitar tone, mate. Love the "angry-metal" treatment you gave the 2nd section!
Runnerbean; Very Knopfler-y bluesy sound & great Joe Cocker type vox. Loved the funk/rock part too. Is that you slappin' & poppin' like Mark King? WOW
Great stuff lads,
Cheers,
John.

Yeah, I used to be in a band with a bass player whose "just plugged in & turned up the volume" routine at every soundcheck was "Schooldays", so I know it well.
Nah, not been over your neck of the woods for a while. Played the Synthonia a few times though... it's a BARN of a room - great for cranking it up!
Cheers,

Had a listen through....well smart thus far!
Naif - You worked that TS tune really well over the backing (I especially liked the 'ballad' section :thumb:). It not only fitted, but worked in making all the stages one complete tune. Top gravelly voice and of course, lurvely bluesy stuff with those wicked tones of yours. Ace! :D
runnerbean1961 - "You make me feel like summer, you make me feel like summer, Yes you do." Gonna have that in my head for some time! :D Top tune, nice melodies and some brilliant hooks. Fab! :D
johnnyrobbo - Nice tone, especially the 'blues fusion' at the start. Some top legato runs and tapping ya got going there, with a nice EVH vibe toward the end. Even though you said you viewed it as three individual sections, I thought it flowed as a whole really well. Quality stuff! :D
I do have one moan though........only 4 entries! Let's have some more!! There's still time to squeeze one off....oop, pardon! :naughty: Do we need to get Delia to whip up the troops? Yip, yip! :p

It would be nice to see a few more entries, not many days left now, but definately still time, i guess ppl prefer the more freeform backers hehe.
Now going to take a listen to your entry Mulletman :thumb:

Excellent work MM, i get the feeling you like that Winners badge right where it is  , really liked what you did with the entry, great feeling and expression on the first part, the second part  , i don't want to ruin that for anyone else who's going to listen, but it really spoke to me lol, and the third part my favourite, a very insane but brilliant riff used there, and you've taken the whole bt and made it your own again, great work :yourock:

Hello Lads,
Just got back off holiday. 1st day back in the saddle & in need of cheering up. Can't listen to your entry, MulletMan, without getting a big grin on my face :) Cheers for that! - Great tone, great technique, great sense of humour. If you don't win again, I'm a dutchmans uncle!
Thanks for the kind words about my entry, but I know my place
Cheers,
John.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. Always nice to know people like ya stuff and I'm glad it got a giggle. :D I had a lot of fun with this months' bt (and not just with those edits - although they were a laugh), so a big thanks to Avalon.
As for the badge, we'll have to wait until the plump lady hums to find out who is blessed with its' glory. ;)

Nice one Park
Love the pitch-shift on the 2nd part - reminded me of "Owner of a Lonely Heart", and the phrasing sounded a bit Zappa-esque to me :thumb:

And you said you were struggling to come up with something Parker lol, really enjoyed the first and third sections, lovely playing and tones with bags of style and passion, the middle section was very cool the shifter being used to great effect and that added a totally different feel to that part, excellent stuff, and a great entry :yourock:

Some good stuff there Parker. Nice jazzy fusion feel, especially in the first two sections. What did you use on the first section? - it has a touch of acoustic about it. Nice stuff. :thumb:

Thanks for the comments guy's:) loved all the other entry's that is why it was so hard to come up with anything as good or different.Mulletmans technique and overdubs were really great.
I used an Eric Clapton crossroads pedal on the "reptile" song setting.for the first part, 2nd part i used a Korg Toneworks AG10 set on "Robot" something(made that up i dont know what setting it was on). 3rd part was Toneworks vox AC15 setting.Really an amazing pedal the Korg ToneWorks is at $99 you cant go wrong as a moddeler.

Ace! The 'reptile' sounds really acoustic - nice twang and zing to it which worked really well with your phrasings.
Oh, and cheers for the comment. :D
