It'll still open in Audacity as is, but just change it to 'MOGG File' for future recognition.

    Paste Bin Abbreviations Sorted

Asked the same question (see post 86 in this thread) over at 'Echoing The Sound' and got a reply...Here are the abbreviations decyphered...

bos1.rar - Boston moggs (upped by fredflintstone)
MMM.part1.rar Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me
WGO.part1.rar Marvin Gaye - What's Goin' On multi
    br.part01.rar - Queen - Brighton Rock multi
fooled.rar - The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again mogg
om.zip - .Mid files (upped by Pendulum People)
DRC15243.rar - Kiss - Detroit Rock City mogg
CDL15243.rar - Kiss - Calling Dr. Love mogg
They Say.rar - Scars On Broadway - They Say mogg
ghat1.rar - Guitar Hero: Aerosmith multis
MOB.rar - Mission Of Burma moggs (I remembered these three, as they were released a while ago)
    CX.rar - Crooked X moggs
    DK.rar - Dead Kennedys moggs

I wouldn't download the 'Aerosmith' multi's , as these are in 'FOF' format...basically that means the instruments are not totally separate from one another.
If you can't find the links for any of the above on the 2 'Paste Bin' pages let me know and i'll post it (them) here.

OK, gang, here is my offering to this effort. Open the attached MSWord file which has links to folders with individual ogg files for all the songs from all the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. I have not checked all these out, so I can't guarantee that they are the best sound quality, but the ones I have checked out seem to be well enough quality for my purposes. Also, these may have multiple tracks combined (compared to the original masters), but not in a way that should keep you from making basic backing tracks for guitar or bass.

I need to play around with these more, but I think that all you need to do is open one of the ogg files from each folder in Audacity and then import the others, then save the file. If anyone has a chance to play with these and verify this, that would be real groovy!

P.S. Just Ctrl+Click on the "Zip" in the right column to open links.

    Addendum to previous post:

OK, well, i just dragged the individual ogg files into Nuendo (Cubase equivalent) and it broke them down into individual tracks! So, looks like these might work out well after all!

I shall keep messing with these files and posting what I find.

Lots and lots of extremely good ones! I was quite surprised really, at the diversity and quantity of tunes available. There are some tunes that I have daydreamed for many years about being able to play along with, yet never in a million years thought it possible...until now!

The file that I attached is a Microsoft Word file (inside the zipped archive) that I compiled from the GuitarFreaks web site link that you posted earlier. I basically sifted through each page for each game version and copy/pasted the song lists and accompanying links into the Microsoft word document. If you have Microsoft Word, you should be able to open the list and check out the songs! Let me know if you are not able to.

I'm not certain. Do you have one that I could try out? If so, let me know where I can download it.

Oh OK...nah it's cool cause i already have that list...printed it out on the weekend...man , there's SHIT loads of good songs on those lists !!!...Only downloaded a few though , as when i listened to them all , all of them had the vocals on the same track as the drums , so i went back to downloading moggs.

The End Of The Line ("Song" ogg)

Hey Zcar...how are you going with your experiments...here's a track for you to try out...each song in these bloody 'FOF' type multi's (although they don't deserve to be called multi's at all) has 3 ogg files...one. guitar , two. rhythm and three. 'Song'...this here ogg is the latter...none of the 'FOF' type oggs are separate instruments...for example , the 'Guitar' ogg you can still slightly here the drums , the 'Bass' ogg you can still here the guitar , and so on...this here 'Song' ogg has the drums , vocals , and a 'Low in the mix' guitar !!!...If you can separate these oggs further it'll be like.............YOU'RE THE MAN !!!
